Rayla Hunt is the Director of Special Projects at Paul Habans Charter School. In this role, Rayla supports the general education teachers with inclusion instruction in the classroom, provides 3rd-8th grade science support, and supports the Family Services team.
Rayla has been an educator for over ten years. Prior to working for Crescent City Schools, Rayla taught science in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. She then became a Master Teacher in a rural community where she was inspired by the growth of teachers and students. She later took on a role as an Assistant Principal of Special Education and Intervention Services before becoming the Director of Special Education and Intervention Services. While teaching and coaching Rayla earned awards for having 85% of students scoring Basic and Above in Science and 100% of her self-contained students obtained their Growth-to-Mastery targets on state exams. Rayla received her B.S. in Biology and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern University and A&M College.
